Student Insurance Plan

The SA is pleased to offer an exceptional Student Health Insurance Plan to all full-time students at Durham College and UOIT.

September Start Students

All registered full-time students are automatically enrolled in the Student Insurance Plan and must pay the health and dental fee as part of their tuition. If you have other coverage you can use the student plan in coordination with existing coverage to increase coverage.

Opt Out

You may decline coverage for the Extended Health and Dental coverage if you have other similar coverage by going to www.wespeakstudent.com and completing the opt out form.  Prescription Drug and AD&D coverage are mandatory and can be used in coordination with other coverage. The opt out must be completed by September 30 to receive an opt out cheque.  You will receive a MyCampus email when the cheques arrive in late November and you must pick up your cheque in the Student Association Office, second floor of the Student Centre by showing a current student ID. First semester fees must be paid in full in order to pick up your cheque.  Cheques do stale date six months after issue and are not reissued.

Opt In

Students may obtain coverage for their spouse and dependent children by enrolling them before September 30 and paying the appropriate fee by certified cheque or money order at the Student Association office, second floor of the Student Centre or by VISA or MasterCard only at www.wespeakstudent.com.

Please note that as a September start student you will not be able to opt-out or opt-in dependants at any other point during the school year.
